To this end, the company recently acquired approximately 2,254 hectares of land at Angwan Mainasara in the Karshi development area of the state. Speaking on the development, the company’s Managing Director, Director Chidebe Sunday Nnabuike said the initiative responds to the quest of the Nigerian agricultural quarantine to establish value chains for donkeys and other animals and delay their extinction. Nnabuike further revealed that the company will soon expand the same project to Kebbi and some southern states, where it will replicate the model. He added that the company would deploy its wealth of experience to help the federal government control the activities of smugglers who often kill donkeys. According to him, donkey skin is important because of gelatin deposits, which Nnaibuike says Chinese for their traditional medicine called Ejiao. The entrepreneur explained that since acquiring the land for animal husbandry, he had made enormous progress in raising donkeys and cattle. He, however, called on the federal government to tackle insecurity, especially around agricultural settlements across the country.
